How to behave during the interview
> It’s very important to begin the meeting with a firm handshake. Always try to look your hosts in the eye and smile. If you find it difficult to maintain eye contact, make an effort to focus on the bridge of their nose. This will create the illusion of eye contact. You won’t always be able to do this straight away, so try practicing on your friends or family members first.
> Let the interviewer lead the conversation. Listen carefully, pay attention to every single word that they are saying, don’t interrupt and answer only when the interviewer has finished talking. Give descriptive answers and expand on any points or claims that you make. This will demonstrate that you have an excellent ability to listen.
> If you didn’t understand or hear a question you should politely ask the interviewer to repeat it. If you are still not sure that you understood the question correctly, you can attempt to confirm what you understood by repeating the question back to the interviewer. For example, you could say, “Did I understand correctly that you would like to know more about my experience in…?”
> Don’t try too hard to make the interviewer like you. They may interpret this unfavourably, either deciding that you are desperate to find a job, or that you are somewhat disingenuous. Try just to be calm, confident and professional.
> Always try to emit a positive attitude and a feeling of wellbeing throughout the interview process, even if your expression is serious and you don’t often smile. Even if you are tired, the feeling of inner happiness will make your eyes shine, which will be received positively by any interviewer.
> Always remember that during the interview, the person interviewing you will not only be considering what he or she thinks of you, but will also be considering you from the point of view of their clients. This is especially true if the majority of your duties will involve direct communication with clients. Also, they will be thinking how other employees of the company, whom you will have to work with, will view you. Your suitability will not only depend on how well you can perform your tasks, but also how well you work in a team environment. Therefore, sometimes it helps when answering questions to imagine that you are talking to a client or a colleague. Generally speaking you should appear more serious if you are talking about your duties or products that you worked on and speak in a friendly and slightly more relaxed manner if you are talking about your personal life or relationships with colleagues.
