Senior Buyer – Burton-on-Trent – To £45,000

Chase & Holland are thrilled to be working with a rapidly growing company based in Burton-on-Trent who develops, sources and markets innovative and collaborative products.
As Senior Buyer you will play an important role in developing new and existing products to meet the customers’ needs and drive strategic growth by negotiating best terms, initiating supplier development, and optimising partnerships with all suppliers.

Senior Buyer Responsibilities:

Product Development:
Managing product development & information flow progress between product development and purchasing departments
Leading production of new product ideas with designers and developers and working closely with the research team on new product concepts
Managing deadlines of sample arrivals for testing, photography, and catalogue production
Running weekly performance reports on new product development progress and projects
Develop a deep understanding of our product range to contribute to future new product development
Competitor and market product analysis
Contribute to the delivery of a customer focussed supply business plan to support the overall business strategy

Managing 1 Buyer
Supplier knowledge building – interacting with suppliers and getting involved with their range and understanding their limits and capabilities
Actively increase the width of our key supply base to remove capacity constraints
Delivering KPI’s on new suppliers and savings
Manage the project of product and supply simplification
Deliver the required new product margin through negotiation or resourcing

This role will suit someone with:
Good technical skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office
A minimum of 3 years Purchasing experience within a fast-moving environment
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to work closely with and influence others
Driver’s licence required and ability to travel on occasion
Fluent in Lithuanian, Polish, Latvian, or Russian (Desirable)
