Logistics Manager -12 months fixed term contract

Hybrid role- Coventry/ Work from home

The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Logistics Manager to do a 12 month contract with our organisation.

This role will lead the implementation of the logistics plan managing both quality and service levels and logistics costs. This will be achieved through the incisive analysis of performance and cost, that enables the individual to identify and recommend improvements to existing initiatives and the introduction of new initiatives. Secondly this role will also optimise reporting to internal stakeholders and retailer networks on logistics KPI including all elements of vehicle movements once accepted into UK NSC stock.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Analyse logistics provider performance on a quantitative (cost) and qualitative (service) basis, identifying and recommending remedial and improvement actions, as well as new initiatives that will improve logistics efficiency on both quality and cost measures.(vehicle movement, vehicle storage, vehicle damage).

• Develop forecasting tools that support improved planning on a short, medium and long-term basis, enabling the individual and the team to challenge the logistics provider’s planning proposals for storage and vehicle movement.

• Analyse and optimise the number/speed and cost of vehicle movements once in UK NSC stocks

• Resolve problems and queries raised by the Distribution Helpdesk, Retailer Networks and ROMs regarding the logistics and delivery of vehicles, using own judgement to decide the best course of action and how best to apply the Group’s resources.

• Liaise with internal parties & the logistics provider to optimise month-end planning and communication to Networks so that invoice volumes are optimised without compromising lead-times.

• Monitor the vehicle damage process to ensure the logistics providers compliance with contractual lead times, highlighting and addressing performance issues with the logistics provider.

• Monitor and ensure Dealer Network compliance with the RUA process, highlighting and addressing performance issues with the Brand’s field teams.

• Initiate and drive new reporting to optimise the flow of vehicles in the UK including sold, unsold and registered vehicles.

A successful candidate for this role should have the following:

• Strong analytical and data processing skills

• Good Excel knowledge, proficient with use of functionalities such as pivot tables

• With strong time management and the ability to handle peak period workloads whilst maintaining an eye for detail and absolute accuracy.

• Able to comfortably analyse data and trends to make sensible decisions on logistical matters

• Strong organisational skills

• Requires the ability to work flexibly and in a matrix manner with the other logistics controllers/managers when necessary
