Internationally renowned publication Forced Migration Review (FMR) seeks an experienced Deputy Editor.
Based at the Oxford Department of International Development, FMR (www.fmreview.org) is published by the Refugee Studies Centre online and in print in several languages including English, Arabic, French and Spanish, and this year Ukrainian and Russian. The Deputy Editor will work closely with the Managing Editor on editing, production, promotion and fundraising to ensure FMR maintains its position as one of the leading publications globally in the field of Forced Migration. Over the coming year, the team will be implementing a dynamic new digital strategy while continuing to publish high-quality issues of FMR on themes such as ‘Ukraine: insights and implications’ and ‘Digital disruption and displacement’, with shorter features on ‘Mobilising for rights in the MENA region’ and ‘Japan: responding to global displacement’.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent (preferably in the social sciences) and should have excellent editing and writing skills in English, including writing for non-English speaking audiences and for use on digital platforms. Strong project management and organisational skills are key to the role. They should have knowledge and experience of forced migration/development issues. Excellent proof-reading skills and an eye for detail across all aspects of the role are essential. Proficiency in Spanish, French and/or Arabic would be an advantage.

This post is offered full-time (with the possibility of 0.8 FTE for the right candidate) and fixed-term for one year. Some remote working will be considered, with a minimum of three days a week in the Oxford office (if full-time) with flexibility to be present on other days when needed.
